Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Crescent Hotel is often praised for its great location, convenient for accessing the town centre, the beach, and attractions like the open air theatre via plentiful buses. Guests frequently enjoy the spacious rooms, particularly the executive king rooms on the first floor, some offering beautiful park views. The hotel's breakfast in Reflections restaurant, including the Full Yorkshire, is another highlight, and some guests appreciate the good choices and quality of the evening meals, along with accommodating options for allergies; a few guests have mentioned the decor in some rooms appearing somewhat dated. The hotel is also noted for being dog-friendly, providing amenities like dog bowls and blankets, and designated dining areas.

spacious room king size bed average breakfast cigarette smoke
i stayed in a superior double room. the room was spacious and very clean with plenty of storage. i also appreciated the almost panoramic view of the gardens and the sea in the distance! the king size bed gave me a quality night's sleep, and the mattress suited me.
the breakfast was average, and there were hardly any vegetarian or vegan options. the bread seemed to be of cheap quality. the room also had a smell of old stale cigarette smoke! i opened the window, but it didn't help much.

The breakfast was very good with plenty of food offered. It was cooked well. the hotel is situated perfectly for accessing both the tram to the south shore and the shopping area behind the hotel.
there was only one lift in the hotel, though it wasn't a major problem.

Fantastic stay!

friendly staff delicious breakfast efficient check-in good directions
The staff were genuinely helpful and friendly, assisting with directions. The breakfast had a good variety of individually wrapped cereals and fresh fruit. I had a tasty full english breakfast, cooked to perfection. The check-in process was very efficient. It took only a few minutes!
The bar music was a little loud during the afternoon.
Dining
9/10
Breakfast includes individually wrapped cereals, juices, yoghurt, and fruit from a buffet. All were fresh. Guests can also order a cooked breakfast, like the full English option. Both are served hot. Tea and toast are also brought to the table.
Rooms
9/10
The room offered ample storage and necessary facilities. It was very clean. A king size bed ensures a good night's sleep. I found the mattress very comfortable. Corner rooms provide nearly panoramic views. I could see the gardens and the sea in the distance.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel exudes character, and public areas are inviting. It was like home. The staff worked very hard to ensure everyone was happy. It was a real pleasure. The location is central yet quiet. I found it convenient.
Location
10/10
The hotel is well-placed for accessing town and the beach. Both are a short walk. The hotel is in a quiet area but remains very close to the town center. I liked being able to walk everywhere.

Acceptable Stay with Some Disappointments

loud music unsuitable music
The room was clean, certainly appreciated.
I found the music in the bar to be too loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation at a reasonable volume. The music selection also did not suit the ambience of an afternoon gathering. I consider this a significant drawback, impacting the overall experience.
